
How to draw a Butterfly using the Intuitive Geometry method

At any point (A) draw a circle of any size. Find any point on the circumference (B) and draw a circle with the same radius (AB). Continue around drawing a circle at any new intersection (C etc.) on the circumference.

Find & connect the following points: D & E , F & G, H & I.

Find & connect the following points: C & J, B & K, L & M.

Find N. Draw a circle with radius AN.

Connect M & J to find O. Draw a circle with centre A and radius AO.Connect M & J to find O. Draw a circle with centre A and radius AO.

Find and connect P & Q to find R. Draw a circle with centre A and radius AR.
Find and connect S & T to find U. Draw a circle with centre A and radius AU.

This is the basic structure for most butterflies, you can use this as a blueprint to create any number of unique butterfly designs. Use 1 for the edge of the antenna, 2 for the head and start of the antenna & wings, 3 for the forewing, 4 for the hindwing, 5 for the abdomen and 6 for the thorax.
